   Thanks!
On a good day, I have the feeling that the "new" golden
age of bicycles is upon us. Despite the broadest part of the market
focusing on competitive racing machines which aren't terribly helpful
for everyday use, there seems to be a growing cadre of builders
who focus upon proven designs and the glorius simplicity of the
classic bicycle. A steady stream of "repurposed" older
models trickles down from the proverbial mountains as well. Interest
in proven designs continues to grow as folks seek, use and create
bicycles which can adapted to a multitude of uses.
 Since
these bicycles are neither "Classics" in the vintage sense,
nor "hip" in the cover of BuyCycling Magazine sense, there
doesn't seem to be anywhere that you can go and see a bunch of them.
              Certainly, Rivendell
has done a great job of putting together an owners'
gallery. But, outside of that, most interesting bikes are spread
across a variety of photo sites and personal web pages. This project
is to bring these Classic styles together for people to enjoy without
having to go to chase down websites all across the internet. For
a more detailed definition of "Current Classics", see
              the submission guidelines page.
              In short, send
              me what you got!
 NOTE
              - this page has one "thumbnail" image from each Current
Classic Bicycle listing - most listings have several photos on their
page. To see all of the photos for a given bicycle, click on the
thumbnail. These are the same bicycles which appear here,
though on this page, the newest photos are on the bottom of the
              page.    |
