Here are a couple photos of my long range bicycle.

I wanted a bike that would take my weight and still allow baggage. The utilitarian nature of the frame appeals to me and if given the choice, could be my only bike. I tried 700x47 tires (41mm actual) and while nice for off road, winter and carefree commuting, I settled on the 700x35 Panaracers for a good compromise in the summer. I plan eventually on a Phil Wood symmetrical rear wheel for a 7-speed freewheel and also a hub generator front wheel for winter commuting. I will use my Schwalbe 700x 41's on those wheels since they have a reflective sidewall and can stand the night commuting better. I used a Salsa steel stem and left the steer tube uncut for a nice high bar. This being a 58cm frame it fits me perfectly and the high bar height is nice for comfort. I planned on some home built racks but have not had the time due to family issues.

The Long Haul Trucker is a well built, affordable all rounder and is the bike I grab when the route is unknown or the weather sketchy.
