I
found this 1968 Raleigh Super Course at a local thrift shop for
$15. It was in stock condition and covered with a layer of dust.
you can see the original shape it was in in the first Polaroid photo.
Since
I have converted to a five speed 42 tooth in front, dropped the
double down-tube shifters for a single stem mount, added NITTO way-
back seat-post (as the frame is to small for me), I obtained the
matching all metal painted fenders from a mid 70's Raleigh Sprite,
I attached a leather Beer coaster as a mud flap, and will be updating
with Campagnolo Gran Sport crank arms very soon.
Although
this bike is a little tight for me it is a real joy to ride, very
responsive. It is ridden mostly as a country commuter to work and
back on long flat and winding country roads with steady traffic.
