Here
for submission to Current Classics is my 94 RB-T. Below
is the description as requested.
1994
Bridgestone RB-T, bought a few years ago as a frameset, with a few
stray parts. The only original part now is the front derailleur,
an RX-100 triple. The rest of the drive train consists of a Shimano
Deore DX crankset, XT (8 speed generation) rear derailleur, SRAM
chain and Sunrace 12-28 8 spd cassette. Brakes are DiaCompe 986
cantis, with Shimano RX100 aero levers. Wheels are Sun CR-18 rims
laced to a Deore rear hub and Nexus N71 dynohub in the front. The
hub powers a B&M DLumotec Oval Senso Plus light. The tail lights
are a Planet bike Blinky-7 on the seat stay and Cateye L600 on the
Carradice Nelson bag, which rests on a Bagman saddlebag support.
Fenders are SKS P45s. Handlebars are Nitto Moustache bars on a Nitto
Technomic stem. I have had m-bars on a number of bikes, and find
them even better with the dummy "stoker" brake levers as shown.
Saddle is a B-17 standard, and isn't normally tipped up that much.
Tires are Ritchey Tom Slicks, which I like but are getting old,
so they'll probably be switched for Pasela 32mms before winter is
through. Photos taken along the wooded path that is part of my commute.
The bike's used for commuting and recreational rides on and off
pavement, and is a LOT of fun to ride. I also really like the graphics
and real headbadge on the '94s... the oval seat tube label is especially
nice.
Thanks!
