1983 StumpJumper: The Bike that changed the Industry.

The first "production" mountain bike available to dealers as a complete bike. After this bike hit the sales floor every manufacturer in the world jumped on the mountain bike band wagon.

This one is about as original as you will find. Got it from the original owner, a friend who no longer rides, with the 1983 sales receipt from Gregg's Greenlake Cycle in Seattle, $800.00, which sounds pretty high end for '83.

Chromo steel with nice simple lugs. Great components including Sugino AT triple, Suntour Mountech F/R derailleur and Suntour silver thumbies, 5sp freewheel/cartridge bearing hubs, Mafac cantis with Tommesselli motor cycle brake levers, one piece Bullmoose handlebar/stem.

Just cleaned and lubed, I replaced the headset bearings, BB and rear hub cartridge bearings and the derailleur cables, rides nice. I don't do single track so it gets ridden for fun and utility around town.

Cheers,

Dan Wade-Seattle
