Jim,
I
originally wasn't going to submit this bike to you because it has
such a strong contemporary flavor. But here goes anyway.
I acquired this bike about five years ago. I purchased it as a monochromatic
silver frame with a mixture of older components. I took the frame
and fork to Brian Pritchett, a local bike painter, for the custom
paint job.
I've
ridden the frame about 9200 km. I first built it with more traditional
components: friction shifting, 7 speed freewheel, etc. I have rebuilt
it several times with lighter, more contemporary, components. I
mostly ride intermediate-speed club rides or solo in the rural areas
around Dallas and Fort Worth.
The
current build up:
- Waterford-built Rivendell Long Low frame, Reynolds 753 and 531
tubing
- Easton EC90 SL carbon fork
- TA Zephyr crank built as a double (36/48 chainrings)
- 9-speed 12-23 Veloce cassette
- Campagnolo Centaur 9-speed Ergo shift/brake levers
- Campagnolo Centaur rear derailer
- Campagnolo Chorus front derailer
- '07 Campy Record hubs on black Interloc Cadence rims, 32 hole,
DT Revolution spokes
- Continental Grand Prix 3000 tires
- Aheadset C4 headset, Easton EA70 stem, Easton EA70 handlebars,
Cinelli black gel bar tape
- Kalloy carbon seatpost and Selle Italia Trans Am Max saddle
- Speedplay Frog pedals
- Nitto bottle cages
regards,
richard
