Hi
Jim -
I
love my Land Shark and thought it would make an apropos addition
to your current classics gallery. Thanks a lot for the fantastic
web site!

This
fillet-brazed steel frame was made for me by John Slawta of Land
Shark Bicycles in Medford, Oregon, in late 2005. The frame (mixing
a couple of ideas from Grant Peterson's Rambouillet and Saluki designs)
fits 700c wheels, takes standard reach sidepulls and has lots of
threaded braze-ons for mini-racks and fenders. John perfectly matched
the paint colors from samples I sent him, and the clearcoat has
a low-lustre, satin finish.
I
use this bike for most of my daily commutes in Brooklyn, NY, for
overnight rides, or whenever I need to carry a bunch of stuff. I
feel very happy riding this bike home at the end of a long day.
It's a wonderful ride... comfortable, beautiful, and practical.
