Jim,

This is my commuter single speed. It is, I believe, a 1982-84 Royal Nishiki built by Kawamura. The original owner had crashed it and was going to junk it. Fork was tweaked and the DT dented. However, Circle A Cycles' Brian Chapman (Riv's Mark Abele to Antbike Mike refs) aligned fork, replaced DT, repainted the frame with the present graphics, did the track dropouts/fender mounts, and replaced top tube cable slots. See slide show at Circle A site.

Frame/fork: 62 Kawamura (Columbus DT), Tange Cro-Mo, Circle A paint
Cockpit: Nitto 115 HB, Terry Stem, Tange HS, Tressostar tape, Velox plugs, Brooks B 17, Kalloy SP
Drivetrain: Bulletproof, Sugino, Salsa, KMC, MKS RMX, ACS FW, Sugino/Shimano c/c 113 BB
Wheels: rebuilt original Weinmann/Araya 27 X 1 1/4 rims with original Sunshine, Schwinn approved (Maillard?) hubs,Sapim, Kenda Brakes: original DiaCompe 500 levers and arches. New hoods and Grey Matter pads.
Acessories: Riv Tool burrito, Nashbar computer.

Very helpful website.

Best,
