My fixie finally got fenders installed as it was intended to. Fenders are Berthoud, scottbrite finish. I tried a different way of mounting the thorn flickers and they work great. More details can be seen here: http://flickr.com/photos/t2architect/sets/72157594543527663/

As you can see, it's ready for a fixed Marin ride anytime.
