Thanks for the bike site. I enjoy all the wonderful bike pictures of the classic here.

A long time friend gave me this 64cm. Schwinn Tempo after his many years of riding. He was the original owner. I started looking at the rusty old Tempo as a short range touring bike. Retirement coming on and owning 8 bikes I decided to start getting my bikes in good riding shape. The Tempo of lugged Columbus Tenax tubing was rusted and looking sad hanging in my shed for years. A painter I had hired to paint the shed had accidently shot over spray all over it. I happened to find a gentlemen who was a retired airplane mechanic and he and his wife love to repair older bikes. I had the frame powder coated and sprayed internally with T-9 Boeshield for rust protection. I had an old 8 speed 600 group left over from an upgrade on my 1997 Litespeed Classic. The old 600 group was carefully rebuilt and feels at home on the old frame. The bike has a 15 year old Hugi rear hub laced to a new Mavic Reflex rim. The bike is a smooth riding machine with o noise. At it's first ride I could tell it's going to be a good companion for years to come.
