jim,
attached
are picture of my '83 or '84 nishiki custom sport (built with Tange
db main tubes). picked up the frame pretty cheaply and built it
up with parts I had lying around my shop. here are the specifics:
wheels:
suntour sprint hubs (32o) laced to SUN CR18s (the third set of wheels
I've ever built, we'll see how I did down the road!) w/ panaracer
pasela 32mm tires
drive: stronglight 99 cranks (47/32T) w/ Campy record cup and cone
BB, suntour cyclone pedals
derailleurs: suntour sprint front, Vx-GT
rear freewheel: shimano megarange 13-15-17-19-21-24-34T, sedis chain
cockpit: sr laprade post, san marco concor saddle, nitto technomic
stem with nitto olympiade bars, benotto wrap
brakes: mafac racers with dia compe gran compe non-aero levers
accessories: zefal pump, minoura cage
it's
a great bike, neutral handling and solid. the frame has great clearance
for large tires because I believe it was designed for 27" wheels
originally. the parts are a real mix as you can see, but it has
a good gear range for my abilities here in northern va.
the
stronglight 99 is a great crank to use as a wide range double, it's
just hard to find the rings! low q-factor, too.
thanks,
randy
