This 1971 BSA 3-Speed was acquired for $74.00 on Ebay. BSA--Birmingham Small Arms--started as a small arms manufacturer and branched out into bicycles. It then began producing motor-bicycles and eventually the famed motorcycle brand that went out of business in the early to mid-1970's. The bicycle operation was sold to Raleigh in 1960(?) and Raleigh continued to manufacture and market BSA's under that name until the 1970s. The bike has a Sturmey-Archer AW 3-speed rear hub and is original except for the following upgrades:

Nitto Technomic stem
Nitto North Road handlebars
French made reproduction Raleigh type grips
VO brass bell
Tektro long reach dual pivot calipers
MKS Touring pedals
Shimano dynohub
Schmidt modified Busch-Muller headlight
Spanniga taillight
Brooks B-66 saddle
Carradice Barley saddlebag
