Hello Jim -

I finally got around to building up my 55cm Casseroll (bought the frame from Jim at Hiawatha Cyclery) - Scrounged around my basement and came up with almost enough parts. Had to buy a seatpost (Nitto S-83 - HIGHLY recommend it!) and a crankset (Bontrager "Race" 172.5/50x36). I tried a couple of other "vintage" cranks but could not nail the chainline.

Anyway - The rest of the build went like this:
Noodle bar, Ritchey WCS stem, FSA headset, Dura Ace levers (from about '85?), Deda wrap w/twine, Tektro long reach calipers w/single "interruptor" lever. Mavic Open Pro rims w/Ultegra hubset and a 12x28 XTR steel cassette. Continental "2000" 700x28 tires. Ultegra rear derailleur, 8 spd. Barcons, and a Suntour Superbe Pro front (31.8mm band - needed 3.5 wraps of brown cloth tape on frame to make it fit the 28.6mm seat tube). M747 "mountain" pedals and a Flite saddle. Rides very nice - great for commuting. Need to get some fenders next...

thanks for the terrific site - Bob
