Jim,

This is a 60cm 83/84 Trek 500, Reynolds 501. According to the vintage trek site the serial number says that the frame was made in 83 but it was painted and spec'd out as an 84. The according to the brochure for each year the only difference in the frames, is the fork offset and I haven't had time to measure it yet. I purchased the bike off the iBob list last summer and built it up as in the pictures. It's currently pre-positioned downstate in occupied Madison County doing duty as my path racer when I visit my mom.

Components are:
Nitto deluxe stem, Randonneur bars, and Cane Creek levers.
Shimano 600 standard reach single pivot brakes.
A well used B17 champion special with a Campy NR 2 bolt seatpost.
Shifters are Shimano 9sp Barcons.
The crank is a Sugino XD with 48/39/24 rings.
Derailers are 105 front and a XD rapid rise rear.
The wheels are 700c Mavic Open Pro rims on Shimano 600 hubs 36 holes rear and 32 front with Wheelsmith 14/15 DB spokes.
Cassette is a 12/27 9sp.
The rubber is 28mm Hutchinson Top Speed folders and Zefal fenders
The only component that's original is the headset which is still buttery smooth.

Great web site, keep up the good work.
