Tim's Rivendell All Rounder

I bought this bike in 1998, months before I was married. Grant and company put together a really nice frame and fork. This frame measures 59 (C-T), was built by Joe S, and painted by JB. The pictures do not do justice to the paint job. As an all rounder it sports 26" wheels which are Mavic rims laced to XT hubs with Avocet tires that I have been unable to kill in eight years of summer commuting. The bike did have a moustache bar but lately I have been riding a drop bar. It has a Nitto stem, 105 shifters, Avid cantis, Ritchey seatpost and a Sugino XD crank. It sports 7 speeds in the rear and I find that that's all that I need. I commute with the fenders and Carradice bag, which saw a lot of rain this summer.

Since I live in the Northeast, I mostly ride the bike in the summer. My commute is a mix of pavement and long dirt climbs, which the bike handles very well. Having viewed this site long enough, I am considering building a set of 650B wheels over the winter. The frame has plenty of clearance and the brakes could be adjusted quickly. It's a thought.
