Hi Jim,

Hope this qualifies as a "current classic" cause it's a real hybrid. These are some photos of my Mirella. ItŐs an old frame with Campagnolo dropouts and nice lugwork that was refurbished, and built up in the "current classic" style we all love.

I needed to replace the fork after sandblasting revealed a crack in the original and I wound up using a modern threadless version and the result was surprising. Graphics are my personal interpretation of Ms. Mirella inspired by old cigar band artwork. Vintage NOS Mafac centerpulls with modern pads provide stopping power. Dirt drop bars with shellaced cotton tape have Suntour bar-end shifters that operate a drivetrain removed from my old Bridgestone MB-1. Hubs are Bullseye, laced to Campagnolo rims, Richey tires, Brooks Pro saddle, Berthoud saddle bag. Stem and seatpost were selected from eBay offerings. And I have a pair of red Bleumels fenders waiting to go on to complete the look. Happily, the ride on the road or the trail is wonderful.

Thanks for hosting a nice resource. We all need more places to look at great bikes.

Regards,
Fred
